Oh the imagination

Vaughan has an intense and quite extraordinary imagination. She can and will spend hours and hours either by herself or with Ellery creating elaborate games and scenarios. It is quite a privilege to listen in on her antics.

A few weeks ago, I stumbled upon this scene. She created "chairs" for each of her dolls and set them up to see "the stage." Woody looks like he is quite amused with the fact that his date has fallen off her chair.

I always get my princesses mixed up but I think this is sleeping beauty (wearing cinderella's dress). Looks like she took a spill on the cat walk....or maybe she just fell asleep?

I guess superman and prince charming are pretty close buds. They decided to share a chair.

In this shot, you can see both cinderella and snow white (to the far right for those not in the princess know) have urgent questions, clearly indicated by the elevation of their hands. Behind them, strawberry shortcake is giggling...she is probably about to get her name on the board. Or maybe this isn't school?

Whatever it is these two need to invest in some sort of conditioner for their locks....that is some otta control hair.

Here is the whole scene. In all honestly, I cleaned this up and the next day all of these peeps and accessories had migrated to our counter - leaving literally no place to eat or prepare food. After that was "removed" I found it had migrated to our dining room table. Seriously -- these are intricate set-ups. You never know what you are going to find or where you might them. That little Vaughan and her little peeps....right now she is asleep with about 10-15 scattered in the bed all around her!

We are off to Family Camp this weekend. Hope you all have a fabulous weekend too!

  1. 1. while I refuse to ever write "LOL," this post literally made me laugh out loud (especially the comment about the dolls' needing conditioner... may I recommend moroccanoil?)

  2. Annie - what I really wanted to write (and what I told Alan) was that it looked like Woody's date had just tooted. Right? Seriously, I should sneak in to V's room and take a pic of her people's (as we call them) all scattered on her bed. It is HILARIOUS!

Family camp rocks. This year could be a little challenging with Latham - who while only 1 thinks she is 4. This week, she tried to shimmy up on a bike...like she was intending to ride it. Boy, are we in trouble!
